SAN CRISTOBAL, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuela imposed electricity rationing this week in six western states, as the crisis-hit country's creaky power grid suffered from a drought that has reduced water levels in key reservoirs needed to run hydroelectric power generators.

The four-hour formal outages began on Thursday. But many residents scoffed at the announcement, wryly noting that they have been suffering far more extended blackouts during the last week."We have spent 14 hours without electricity today. And yesterday electricity came and went: for six hours we had no power," said Ligthia Marrero, 50, in the western state of San Cristobal, noting that her fridge had been damaged by the frequent interruptions.Crumbling infrastructure and lack of investments have hit Venezuela's power supply for years. Now, the situation has been exacerbated by dwindling rains. In the worst-hit western cities, business has all but ground to a halt at a time when the OPEC nation  Read more...

Venezuela Obama's paradise
March 2nd, 2018 10:35 pm

-CARACAS (Reuters) - The bus station was like a funeral home. Families were weeping and hugging, saying their goodbyes. Everybody was sad and scared - the ones leaving because they were facing an uncertain future, and the ones staying behind because they were facing muggings, shortages of food and an even more uncertain future.

Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans migrated elsewhere in South America last year. Reporter Alexandra Ulmer and I wanted to give names and faces to at least a few of them, so we decided to join them in a nearly 5,000-mile bus journey south to Chile.

I hoped that by sharing this journey with my fellow Venezuelans, I could help show the rest of the world what most of us are facing every day.I am no stranger to this daily reality: Friends and family members are leaving; some have been robbed of their few remaining belongings and of their hopes; others have lost their jobs and income. I try to take care of the people closest to me - otherwise, some of them might not eat.-  Read more...

Nearly five times as many murders are committed with knives than so-called “assault rifles,” according to the FBI.

The new crime statistics released by the agency reveal that out of 11,961 murders performed within the U.S. in 2014, 660 were committed unarmed, 1,567 were committed with knives and only 248 murders were known to have been committed using rifles of any type, including single-shot long arms and “assault rifles” routinely demonized by gun control groups.   Read more...

Director of the FBI Christopher A. Wray Should resign or be fired
February 16th, 2018 5:39 pm
FBI director Christopher Wray should resign or be fired for his complicity in the deaths of 17 young Americans. He runs it organization that is completely incompetent in most every endeavor they take on. The few successes they have are held up in the media is incredible works. The truth is out of the tens of thousands of FBI agents only 10% are actually producers of the intelligence works that keep this country safe. We are told time and time again what dangerous work they do, can you tell me the last time you heard of an FBI agent in a gun battle?  it would be much easier to answer that if you were talking about local police.
Early January of this year the FBI was given specific information about Nikolas Cruz . The information concerning Mr. Cruz detailed his stockpile of arms his desire to kill humans, specifically students in a school. They knew his address and they failed to do any follow-up, they did not notify the local office where Mr. Cruz lived. The FBI director has apologi  Read more...
